Managing Dog Behavior for Canine Professionals

2SpeakDog is offering a unique opportunity to canine care professionals in the Richmond area. Our seminar, “Speaking Dog” is specifically designed for dog daycare owners, staff, rescue groups, humane societies, and other dog care specialists. This 2-hour interactive learning session includes an open question-and-answer session, and covers the following topics:

  • Canine warning signs/signals
  • Calming escalated behavior
  • Diffusing tension/fights
  • Overall body language
  • Dog-people greeting
  • Door/gate etiquette
  • Crating etiquette
  • Working with 'untrained' dogs

“Speaking Dog” is presented by 2SpeakDog's Master Trainer and Behavior Specialist, Jennifer Kyzer. Jennifer holds a Master's Degree in Education and has been training dogs for over 10 years. She specializes in behavior issues, and has worked with dogs of all breeds and ages in a wide variety of training areas.

Along with basic obedience and behavior training, Jennifer has tackled problems such as dog-dog and dog-people aggression, separation anxiety, destructive behaviors, resource guarding, leash aggression, extreme fear/shyness, severe leash pulling, ‘pack’ (multiple dog household) issues, improper greetings, crating and potty training. Jennifer also assists new parents in learning the proper steps to introducing family dogs to new babies, and works with families to successfully integrate adult rescue dogs into the household.

Jennifer is a certified evaluator for the S.T.A.R Puppy Program, K-9 Good Citizen through the American Kennel Club and Certified Mentor & Trainer for Animal Behavior College.
